Golden Country City Chic

February 3, 2016

A networking event led these two working professionals to each other, and they have been inseparable ever since! Dan, a true country boy from Tennessee and Danielle, a city gal from Chicago, knew they wanted a wedding that incorporated their two favorite things: family and country style! I was happy to help make their vision a reality.

The union took place on a beautiful June day at the Marriott Chicago-Naperville, outside on the hotel's lovely patio. The ceremony site showcased lush greenery with a touch of rustic flare. Wooden chiavari chairs lined the bride's path to the altar. All guests were gifted with fans hand-made by the groom's grandmother.

It was a beautiful time shared with family and friends, but one important guest was missing. I could not let Dan and Danielle's special day pass without honoring the bride's late father. For him we created a special plaque and boutonniere and set up pictures from her youth. Neither the bride nor her mother knew about this beforehand, as we wanted it to be a surprise. We brought them down before the ceremony and tears were shed when they saw the display. The plaque and other items were then moved to the front row seat alongside Danielle's mother.

After saying their "I dos," the couple took their modern rustic theme indoors. The hall exhibited a theme of golden yellow with accents of burlap and lace. The centerpieces sported hand-crafted mason jars filled with ivory baby's breath. Golden yellow mason jars with chalk board numbered signs were also used to number the tables. It was simple country chic at its best.

Fun and family were at the center of this reception as guests were encouraged to hit the dance floor and get down with the newlyweds. The highlights of the reception included the bride and groom's first dance as husband and wife and the groom's intimate dance with his mother. The dance with the father of the bride was replaced with a dance between the bride and her son, who was then joined by the groom to mark the start of their new family.

I think it's safe to say that Dan and Danielle's vision was achieved. From the venue to the decor to the wholesome family vibe, our bride and groom got just what they asked for. It was fun helping make such a special day for such a loving couple.

Congratulations, you two! May you have many more happy moments to come!
